Giving at St. Paul’s

Your giving helps sustain a community of worship, welcome, and service in the heart of Des Moines.

Giving is one way we respond to God's love and share responsibility for our life together. Every gift, large or small, contributes to the ministry of St. Paul's.

Why we give

Sustaining the life we share.

Gifts to St. Paul’s help sustain the people, spaces, and everyday work behind our worship and ministry. Together, we care for a cathedral that welcomes our neighbors and serves downtown Des Moines.

Worship & music

Your support helps sustain Sunday worship, the choir and organ, and the preparation that makes our services possible. We gather around Scripture, prayer, and Holy Communion, then carry that faith into the week.

Learning & care

Sunday adult learning, EfM, and our book club offer ways to ask questions and grow together. Clergy and members also offer pastoral care, prayer, and companionship through illness, loss, and life’s changes.

Welcome & service

The Blessing Box offers food and everyday essentials to neighbors. Our building also provides space for Connection Café ministry and community hospitality. Giving helps care for the spaces and daily operations that support this shared work.

Planning our future together

A pledge helps us
plan with care.

A pledge is an estimate of what you intend to give over the year. It helps the cathedral plan its budget and ministry.

Making a pledge and making a payment are separate steps. A pledge does not automatically set up recurring donations.

Questions about giving

Which fund should I select online?

Choose “General Fund (Plate)” for general cathedral support. If you have an existing pledge and are making a payment toward it, choose “Pledge (must be Pledger).” Other listed funds support specific purposes. The form may open with a project fund selected, so check your selection before completing your gift.

Can I give without making a pledge?

Yes. You can make a one-time gift or give regularly without submitting a pledge.

What if I have a question about a gift or giving record?

Email . Please do not include card or bank account details in your email.

Can I give my time as well?

Yes. Serving in worship, caring for one another, and joining our community ministries are also expressions of generosity. Explore ways to get involved.

Thank you
