Music at St. Paul’s
Music is central to the worship life of St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral. Through congregational song, choral leadership, organ music, and the bells of the carillon, music draws us closer to God.

St. Paul’s 25-bell carillon is one of the cathedral’s most distinctive public ministries. Its bells ring out over downtown Des Moines, marking the presence of the cathedral in the city.
The carillon offers music as a gift beyond the walls of the church, marking time throughout the city by chiming at the top of the hour. The bells play seasonal hymns at 12 noon, 5:00 pm, and 6:00 pm each day.
