DMARC Food Pantry
We are proud supporters of DMARC (Des Moines Area Religious Council) and their food panty. You can give by donating money or food, or signing up for volunteer opportunities on their website. Together, we help the metro keep food on their tables.
Social Justice Committee
Our social justice committee is more than another meeting. We actively support the Iowa Sanctuary movement. We advocate for just legislation through conversations with our Episcopal lobbyists at the State House. We plan educational and action oriented activities for the St. Paul’s community around justice issues.
Creation Care
St. Paul’s is the proud home of a beautiful rain garden, which captures and absorbs rain from the parking lot and the cathedral roof. It relies upon soil with good percolation rates and drought-tolerant native plants to absorb water like a sponge. By infiltrating most of the water on-site, the amount of water and pollution flowing into storm sewers and directly into rivers and streams is greatly reduced. This garden requires tending and our weekly weeders help take care of this space during the growing season.
We also have an active Care of Creation Committee that engages with issues of ecological justice and seeks to help St. Paul’s reduce waste.
